Compare runs an analysis on demand. Nothing loads until you choose Run Analysis, so you can set everything up first.
Setting up an analysis
Section titled “Setting up an analysis”- Branches: pick up to two stores from the ones you have access to.
- Metric: one at a time. Footfall, Demographics and Peak Hours are the fully supported metrics. Weather and Occupancy are available but limited; see Limitations.
- Period: 7, 14 or 30 days, or Custom. Custom ranges can start up to a year ago but may not be longer than 30 days. Ranges longer than 14 days show a note that the analysis will take longer.
- Compare Against: None, Previous (the period of the same length immediately before), or Custom (any other range).
- Choose Run Analysis. The button shows how many queries will run. A progress bar follows; Cancel stops it, and Clear resets the form.
Ranges of up to two days are charted in 10-minute steps; longer ranges are charted hourly.
Reading the results
Section titled “Reading the results”- Summary strip: Total Visitors, Average Daily, Peak Bucket and Gender Split per branch.
- Footfall Comparison: a solid line for the selected period and a dashed line for the comparison period.
- Age Demographics, Peak Hours (by store-local hour) and Weather Conditions panels.
- Data Table with the underlying rows. Show all expands long tables.
After an analysis
Section titled “After an analysis”- Export downloads the result as CSV or Excel.
- Schedule as report (customer admins) opens the Reporting form pre-filled with the branches, metric and comparison you used, so the same analysis can be emailed on a schedule.
- When an analysis finishes, you get a notification in the bell with a View link, which is useful if you left the page while it ran.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- At most two branches per analysis. For more stores, use Rankings.
- Custom ranges are capped at 30 days.
- The Weather and Occupancy metrics are still being completed. Weather shows sample conditions rather than recorded weather, and Occupancy does not return results yet. Use the Weather Impact card on the Overview and the In Store Now card on the store page instead.
