Managing stores
Customer admin
Stores in the administration sidebar lists your stores. Choose a store to open its detail page, or Add store to create one. Store admins can see the list but not open or edit a store.
Creating or editing a store
Section titled “Creating or editing a store”The store form has the following fields. The same form is used when editing, including the Edit button on a store’s detail page.
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | Shown everywhere in the console and in reports. |
| Type | Retail, Pop-up, Flagship or Demo. Demo marks sample stores. |
| Address | Search the map to set the address and coordinates. Used for the map, weather and the region filter on the store page. |
| Time zone | Every chart, “today” and the open/closed status use this zone. Set it to the store’s local zone. |
| Maximum capacity | Used for the occupancy share on the store page and the Occupancy ranking. Leave it at 0 and occupancy shows 0% and the store cannot be ranked by occupancy. |
| Operating hours | See below. |
| Counting mode | See below. |
| Excluded from counting | See below. |
| Description and Metadata | Free text and key/value pairs, for your own reference, such as a store code from another system. |
Changes save immediately and are recorded in the activity log.
Operating hours
Section titled “Operating hours”Each weekday has an open/closed switch and opening and closing times. A new store starts with every day closed.
Operating hours matter more than they look:
- The store’s status badge and the Stores Open count on the Overview come from them.
- The Today and Yesterday footfall charts are clipped to them.
- Footfall Today and Pace vs Yesterday count from the opening time.
Until you set hours, the store shows as Closed and its daily charts stay empty. Set them as the first step after creating a store.
Counting mode
Section titled “Counting mode”Bon can count visitors in two ways.
| Mode | How it counts |
|---|---|
| Zone sequence (default) | The camera has an exit zone and an entry zone drawn in front of the door. A person seen in the exit zone and then the entry zone counts as an entry; the reverse counts as an exit. |
| Counting-line crossings | The camera has a line drawn across the entrance. Crossing the line in one direction counts as an entry, the other as an exit. |
Zones and counting lines are drawn by Bon when a device is installed. Counting-line crossings can only be selected once at least one camera at the store has a counting line; until then the option is locked. If you want to switch modes, email info@bonintel.com and Bon will configure the cameras first.
Excluded from counting
Section titled “Excluded from counting”Choose age bands and genders to leave out of footfall. A visitor is excluded only when they match both lists; an empty list matches anyone. For example, excluding the Child age band with no gender chosen excludes all children; excluding Child and Female excludes only girls.
- Exclusions apply to data received after you save. Earlier data is not changed.
- Heatmaps and zone analytics still include excluded visitors; only footfall counts are affected.
- Use this for staff-heavy entrances or stores where a group should not count as customers.
Store users
Section titled “Store users”The detail page lists the store’s users with their roles. See Store users.
Devices
Section titled “Devices”The detail page lists the store’s devices with their online state. An alert at the top names any device that is not sending data. See Devices and data quality.
Deleting a store
Section titled “Deleting a store”Delete on the store list asks you to type the store’s name. Deleting removes the store from every dashboard and ranking. Its devices stay registered to your organization until Bon reassigns them. Contact Bon before deleting a store that still has devices installed.
